Rice Cereal

Jacob is growing up more and more every day. He is now a big boy and had his first taste of rice cereal. At first he wasn't to sure about what mommy was putting in his mouth but he seemed to warm up to the idea after a little while. It's so cute to see him use his little tongue to push the cereal in and out of his mouth. It's amazing to watch him growing up and making new discoveries. Next we will start introducing different vegetables. I'm excited to see his reactions.

He likes to eat his bib in between bites.

Christmas

Our family had a wonderful Christmas Eve and Morning! The three of us ended up attending a candle-light Christmas Eve service with my family after having a wonderful Christmas roast made by my mom. Her dinner was absolutely wonderful and everything turned out to perfection. After dinner, the family gathered around the tree and each opened one present. Mike and I ended up heading home to put Jacob to bed and spend the rest of the evening opening our Christmas presents to each other. I love the enjoyment of exchanging gifts between just the two of us with the tree lit up and the world all quiet around us. The next morning we woke up and had Jacob open (or rather Daddy for Jacob) the presents he had under our tree. Afterwards, we headed over to my parents house to join in the present opening craziness that commences every Christmas Day with all my brothers and sisters. Jacob was spoiled like crazy and now has an entirely new wardrobe that I will love dressing him up in. He loved smiling and laughing at all the funny faces and noises that his aunts and Nana provided. It was absolutely wonderful to relax and spend time with my family. We pray that everyone had a blessed Christmas full of our Saviours love!

Jacob's First Santa Picture

On Christmas Eve day my family went to get our annual Santa picture. For as long as I can remember my Mom has made us all stand next to Santa and smile pretty :). Growing up I hated it especially when I was between the ages of 12-18 years but it's neat to look back at all the Santa pictures we had and see how we've all changed. This was Jacob's first Santa picture of many more to come and he did fantastic and even gave us a huge smile. What a sweet little guy.

Let it Snow!

What a beautiful winter wonderland it has been around here! We completely enjoyed our weekend while the snow continued to fall without ceasing. The weather allowed us the pleasure of just staying at home all weekend and enjoying Jacob's first snow. He won't see many like this! While we weren't able to get out as much as we would have liked to, due to some nasty colds that mike and I have, we were able to get out for a little bit here and there and even made ourselves a nice little snowman. I had been baking cookies like a maniac recently and we walked around and delivered them to our neighbors. We even got invited in a couple of times and treated to some yummy hot cocoa. Sunday night we were able to have dinner with our neighbors, Kyle and Jill, who live right across the street from us. It's amazing how some snow allows for some neighbor bonding :). We had a great time and hope that we don't wait for the next snow storm to get together again. I hope all are well and that you stayed safe and warm during this little blizzard that we experienced.

4 Months Old!

Monday was Jacob's 4 month appointment. I can't believe that time has flown by that quickly. It seems just like yesterday that we were bringing him home from the hospital. Time seems to be escaping us more and more with every passing day. Jacob is doing fantastic and he is as healthy as can be, which I praise God for. He was weighed and measured right off the bat and I found out that he now weighs 17lbs 12oz, which means he is off the charts for weight :). His length was 27 inches which puts him in the 97th percentile. Mike ended up coming home and plugging all his measurements into a website that predicts his adult height (I'm sure it's completely accurate:) ) and it calculated that he would be 6ft 2inches :) Obviously we have no idea just how big he's going to end up but one thing is for sure, he's a big boy! The rest of the appointment went well and he even did great for the shots that they gave him. Poor little guy! I have loved every day that I've gotten to spend with Jacob and I look forward to many more. He's such a blessing to Mike and I and we couldn't be happier than when we're both on the floor cooing and babbling with our sweet son. It's amazing how quick life changes!
Thanks Great Grandma Alspach for the awesome outfit!
It keeps me warm.

Cutest chubby cheeks around!

Our cat Louie decided to join Jacob in the tub.
